[Article] - The confusion surrounding Stéphane
Can the two-time world champion Stéphane Lambiel taking part in the TV show "Thin Ice" and no longer participate in ISU competitions?

The Swiss Skating Association on Thursday released a communication in which wrote that Lambiel automatically with participation in competitive skating, "Thin Ice" switch into the camp of elite runners, and therefore in all competitions by the International Skating Union (ISU) was no longer allowed.

Thus has terminated the career of Lambiel as a competitor?
No. For now officially the 25-year-old Lower Valais not resigned, even though every indication is that he at the 4th Rank in the Olympic Games in Vancouver last time has been battling for points. He sees his future in show appearances, he makes no secret of it.

Still, he wants to keep open a back door. In that case he could ask for a ban by the ISU Council, a special request for Reamateurisierung - this is even possible. This is approved, there is not necessarily a waiting period. At the European Championships next January in Bern, he should refrain, however, one way or another.
